Miss Grand International Public Company Limited (MGI) enterprises the Experiential Commerce through beauty pageants, Miss Grand Thailand, and Miss Grand International, making a name countrywide and worldwide. The company can be divided into 4 business fields, commerce, pageants, media, and x-periences and talent.
The company was started by Mr. Nawat Itasagrisil and Mr. Ratchaphon Chantaratim on November 6, 2013, with a registered capital of 1 million baht, a total of 10,000 shares, with a par value of 100.00 baht per share, to operate the business of organizing beauty pageants for both domestic and international level.
The objective at the beginning was to organize an international beauty pageant that was a platform for Thai people to be popular internationally and compete with other international competition stages in the world. Also, to upgrade and develop the entertainment industry in the form of beauty pageants, which during that period, the popularity declined. The company therefore sees a business opportunity that will create a stage for beauty pageants. It was able to recover and gain popularity in 2013, which was the first year of its establishment. The company has organized activities at the national level under the name Miss Grand Thailand (MGT) and at the international level under the name Miss Grand International (MGI). The company emphasizes the strategy of making “Miss Grand” widely known to build fame and create a well-known image nationally and internationally. As the slogan says “We are Grand the one and only”. In the beginning, there was a competition in the form of selecting representatives which was managed by the company itself. The company will select Thai women who have the appropriate qualifications to be beauty queens to enter the competition. In addition, in 2013, the company invited national contest copyright holders or National Directors (ND) to participate in international contests. In that year, ND participated in the contest from a total of 88 countries, with Thailand being the host country for the national stage, MGI, in the first year. In that year, the winners of the MGT and MGI contests were Miss Yada Thepanom and Miss Janelee Chaparro from Puerto Rico respectively, and the company began collecting royalties from participating in international contests with NDs in 2014 until the present.
In 2016, the company changed the format of the Miss Grand Thailand (MGT) contest into the copyright system representing 77 provinces throughout Thailand. This is considered to be the first stage in Thailand that is fully organized in this format. When the company is more widely known The company has therefore started having copyrights holders in each province or Provincial Director (PD) by having copyright sales contracts with PDs in all 77 provinces. Those who receive contest copyrights (PD) in each province can use the name, and trademark logo in the Miss Grand contest to be used in the Miss Grand contest in each province to select the winner who will move forward to the national competition stage, Miss Grand Thailand in each year. PDs can’t use the organization name and trademark for personal use, or impersonate the company name to induce illegal benefits. Or any other acts In addition to organizing Miss Grand contests in each province according to the copyright sales contracts, it is clearly stated that PD is the only one who has received the rights to hold a provincial competition, not the representative of the company in any way.
Selling contest rights to PD is another way to start generating income from the company’s reputation. For the final round of the Miss Grand Thailand contest, the company will organize the contest without selling the rights to PD. In this way, Miss Grand will sell the right to be the host province each year. In addition, in 2016, the company also organized the Miss Grand International (MGI) contest outside of Thailand for the first time in Las Vegas. USA which made the Miss Grand International contest and the company is even more well-known internationally.
2017 was the first year that the Miss Grand International contest took place with a potential host in Phu Quoc, Vietnam This is another important step for the company’s pageant business.
In 2020, the company saw the potential in the commercial business that the company could do efficiently. Therefore, sales channels have been added through TV Shopping, where customers can order products through television programs and by telephone. In addition, the company continues to increase advertising and public relations and sell products through the Line Official Account (Line OA), which has received a good response. In 2021, the company invested in its own Contact Center system, which can support sales through TV Shopping, Telesales, as well as other social commerce channels, and is also a channel for providing after-sales service to customers.
