“Miss Grand Myanmar” Sheds Tears as Runner-up, While Lin Malin of Thailand Stops at the Top 20 Round
A night of the “Golden Crown” that had fans cheering in delight! Rachel Gupta, Miss Grand India, a 20-year-old model and aspiring Bollywood actress, was crowned Miss Grand International 2024, becoming the 12th titleholder in the pageant’s history. With her outstanding 4B qualities—Beauty, Body, Brain, and Business—there was no denying that Rachel was a well-deserved winner.
Meanwhile, two of the competition’s strongest contenders, Christine Julian Opiasa, Miss Grand Philippines, and Thazin Nwe, Miss Grand Myanmar, were left as runners-up. Thazin Nwe was seen shedding tears over her loss.
Fans celebrated the 10 new golden crown winners with great enthusiasm. Nawat Itsaragrisil, CEO of Miss Grand International Public Company Limited, has planned a packed schedule for the winners while reaffirming the pageant’s commitment to the slogan “We are GRAND, The One and ONLY.” He also emphasized the organization’s dedication to driving forward the “Stop The War And Violence” campaign, which aims to end war and violence in all forms—a strong concept that has been at the core of Miss Grand International’s advocacy for the past 12 years.

The Miss Grand International 2024 pageant took place at MGI Hall, 6th floor of Bravo BKK, with Thailand as the host country, delivering a grand and breathtaking production in every stage of the competition. From the extravagant stage setup, lighting, sound effects, background music, and camera angles to the 68 contestants competing fiercely for attention, the event was a dazzling spectacle.
The night opened with the thunderous roar of a helicopter, followed by an awe-inspiring Opening Show featuring Luciana Fuster, Miss Grand International 2023, alongside the contestants dressed in stunning gold ensembles. The spectacle was nothing short of breathtaking—words could never capture the magic experienced inside the hall and by over 2 million viewers watching live on YouTube Channel: Grand TV.
Matthew Deane, the host, announced the winner of Country’s Power of the Year, which was awarded to Miss Grand Thailand, automatically securing her a spot in the Top 20. She was joined by contestants from:

The Top 10 finalists then returned to the stage to deliver their speeches on the “Stop The War And Violence” campaign—an initiative that has been the core mission of Miss Grand International, advocating for peace at both the family and national levels.
The evening reached an emotional peak as Luciana Fuster, Miss Grand International 2023, took the stage for her farewell walk, gracefully returning the crown to Nawat Itsaragrisil, who then prepared to pass it on to the new queen.
